Whether you are leaving for a few weeks, several months, or longer, The Caretaker Gazette can help you find the right person to care for your property while you are away.
I just paid $55 to run my house sitter ad in the local newspaper and received many responses, but none of them were interested in a long-term house sitting assignment. My ad in the Gazette brought seven great responses so far, from which I just found a good person to house sit my ranch for me while I am away. Thanks for your service.
J. L., Stroud, Oklahoma
I have found a house sitter so my ad can be deleted from the next issue of The Caretaker Gazette. I have had many wonderful responses and felt so bad to tell some of the applicants the position was filled. It is great to have such a forum for searching for good help.
M. S., St. Augustine, Florida
Would you believe we got fewer responses from our ad in The Caretaker Gazette, but found the best house sitter we have ever had. Thanks again.
S. B., Gunnison, Colorado
I cannot say enough for the marvelous service you provide. The house sitter ad you placed for me brought an excellent response, resulting in a very satisfactory placement. I prefer to hire folks from the Gazette rather than local people. I have had fewer problems this way.
P. I., Napa, California

A vacation property in the Rocky Mountains, a villa on a Caribbean island, an estate in Australia. The Gazette publishes opportunities for house sitters and property caretakers in all 50 states and abroad!
We have been helping people find these positions since 1983. Each year our subscribers receive more than a thousand house sitting and property caretaking openings across the United States and abroad. House sitters tell us that being away from the usual pressures gives them room to think, and that the money saved on rent changes what the rest of their year looks like.
Many landowners in need of house sitters advertise only in The Caretaker Gazette.
Estates, mansions, farms, ranches, nature preserves, camps, lodges and islands. Wherever there is land, there is a potential house sitting assignment.
There are no placement fees and no hidden charges. The subscription price is all you pay.
Run your own ad in the Situations Wanted section and let property owners who subscribe respond to you.
Thanks to your newsletter, I am house sitting on a horse ranch in the beautiful southwest for the month of January. I love being far away from the urban rat race.
A. Foley, North Attleboro, Massachusetts
We have finally found our dream position through The Caretaker Gazette. We are now happily house sitting on the East Coast, near our family.
C. and J. Smith, Los Angeles, California
We usually do not write to our publications, but we had to tell you that we just landed a great summer opportunity as caretakers in a nature retreat. Thanks for your service.
B. and J. Wymer, Akron, Ohio
I love this publication. A few years ago we were able to get a house sitting position for six weeks. That allowed us to spend the summer near our son and daughter in law and grandchildren in Virginia. It also gave us time to really check out the area and we have since moved there.
Marion Ovaska, Blacksburg, Virginia
